Tata Steel is seeking applications from qualified applicants for the job of Engineer Trainee in Operations, Maintenance, and Engineering & Projects.
Position : Engineer Trainee
Engineer Trainee Programme Specifications
1. Selected candidates will be assigned as Engineer Trainees for a period of one year. Throughout the training time, the trainees will be evaluated on a regular basis. After successfully completing training, they would be considered for a three (3) year fixed-term position as Assistant Manager (IL6) at Tata Steel.
Functions to be chosen: Must have finished or be in the final year of a B.E./B.Tech./B.Sc. (Engg.) in the relevant discipline.
1) Civil and Structural Engineering 2) Ceramic 3) Chemical 4) Electrical/ Electronics/ Instrumentation/Power Electronics 5) Environment Engineering 6) Mechanical 7) Metallurgy 8) Mineral 9) Mining 10) Beneficiation Engineering 11) Production Engineering 12) Industrial Engineering 13) Mechatronics 14) Geoinformatics
OR
Must have finished or be in the last year of an M.Tech/M.Sc. in one of the following disciplines:
1) Geology 2) Geophysics 3) Remote Sensing 4) Geographic Information Systems.
Minimum Educational Requirements :
1. Candidates who have finished a three-year diploma and have entered the second year of engineering and are in their last year of BE/B Tech/B Sc (Engg) are also eligible.
2. You must have completed a full-time AICTE/UGC-approved campus programme.
3. For general candidates, a minimum of 6.5 (CGPA) or 65% (percentage) in BE / B Tech / B Sc (Engg) /M.Tech /M.Sc. is required. Examination
4. For Transgender, Persons with Disabilities, and SC/ST Candidates: A minimum of 6.0 (CGPA) or 60% (percentage) in BE / B Tech / B Sc (Engg) /M.Tech /M.Sc is required. Examination
Age Criteria : General candidates must be under 30 years old on June 1, 2023.
2. Transgender, PwD, and SC/ST candidates must be under the age of 32 on June 1, 2023.
Emulement Compensation :
1. Engineer Trainees will be paid a monthly stipend of 30,000 for their one-year training period.
2. Engineer Trainees will be covered under the Medi-Claim scheme for themselves only (which covers hospitalisation coverage of 2,50,000/- per year and outpatient coverage of 6,000/- per year).
3. 3. Those recruited as Assistant Manager on Fixed Term Employment would be granted a CTC of INR 7 lacs per annum, along with other perks and benefits as per corporate policy, upon successful completion of training.

The evaluation procedure :
1. All qualified candidates will take an online Cognitive and Technical Test.
2. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to in-person or virtual interviews.
